Brief Bio

I was born in the beautiful city of Lahijan, a major tourist hub in the northern Iran. I received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran, in 2007 and the M.Sc. degree (with honors) in Telecommunications Engineering from the IUST, in 2010. In past, I have been a member of the Wireless Communications Laboratory in the School of Electrical Engineering at the IUST. I am currently a member of Circuit and Systems Group (CAS) at the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), Delft, The Netherlands, to work toward my Ph.D. degree under supervision of Prof. Geert Leus. In 2012, I was a visiting scholar at the SISTA division of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven). In 2013, I was an intern with Shell Global Solutions. In 2014, I was a visiting scholar at the CSIP group of Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech). I have served as the technical reviewer for several IEEE journals and major conferences.

  • I officially finished my PhD in Aug. 2014 (ready for the job market!); the defense will be held in Dec. 2014.
  • Our paper entitled "Sparsity-Aware Sensor Selection for Correlated Noise" is accepted for presenation in Intl. Conf. on Information Fusion (FUSION), July 2014.
  • Our paper entitled "Sparsity-Aware Multiple Microseismic Event Localization Blind to the Source Time-Function" is accepted to appear in Geophysical Prospecting journal.
